The Incredible Human Journey




A FIVE PART BBC DOCUMENTARY: The Incredible Human Journey examines the most likely route mankind took when migrating from Africa, and how, after leaving their mother-land, they eventually spread out to colonize all the corners of the globe.



Out Of Africa
Episode 1
Episode one of this series examines where in Africa the first humans might have originated, the day-to-day challenges life may have set for these early people, and the probable route one small group of them might have used to move out into the greater world.

Asia
Episode 2
Episode two of this series discuses the human migration into Asia, why people there today look so different from everybody else on the planet, and what raw materials they might have utilized for tool and weapon making.

Europe
Episode 3
Episode three of this series examines evidence for the first people to have arrived in Europe, how this group of settlers came across a distant cousin of man's called Neanderthal, and how a sudden change in the climate of that era pushed these early settlers to the edge of their own annihilation.

Australia
Episode 4
Episode four of this series discuses when the Australian branch of the human family tree may have arrived on their content, how they might have been able to cross the enormous divide of ocean required to do so, and what obstacles they would have faced when they walked into this new environment.

Americas
Episode 5
Episode five of this series discuses the mankind's arrival in the Americas, the most likely route they could have used to gain access, and evidence they left in their wake which tells archaeologists, today, when and how this migration might have happened.
